This Version 6.2 CTP is the first publicly shared release of the Managed Services Engine (MSE). This release includes an executable msi, with runtime services, tools, documentation, and sample services. The intent with this release is to share some core components of the Managed Services approach with the community and collect feedback on the Service Catalog and Runtime Server. There are many extensibility points available through the MSE and we are eager to see the direction you take those capabilities.
Be sure to read the Installation Guide before installing the MSE. There are a couple of small issues you may encounter with certain configurations, but the work-arounds are quick and simple.
We would also encourage you to use the 30 Minute Walkthrough provided (we tried to shorten it to 15, but we had to cut out stuff to get it down to 30!) as it will get you quickly up and running and working with the MSE. We are really looking forward to your feedback on the documentation so we can address any gaps on the next round. All documentation (including the extensive MSE Technical Guide) is installed through the MSI, so if you want everything, the MSI is your one-stop shop.

We have added a lab that is intended to serve as a quick overview of how to introduce custom channels and bindings into the MSE environment. This custom binding demonstrates creating new virtual services that conform to an organization’s standards while enabling access to existing systems that don’t work with the out of box WCF bindings.
