I have installed MSE on two machines and on both machines I kept getting the errror message above in the status bar of the MSE Administration tool. Looking at the event log, it is filled with error messages.

The latest one is:

The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( MSE Model Viewer ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: <LogEvent ClassName='Microsoft.MSE.Tools.ModelViewer.Controller.MainController' EventGuid='3c22dd14-624d-4bc3-85ff-42d9fc7187c9'> <EventMessage>An application execption has occured see the exception in the log for details.</EventMessage> <EventException>System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Microsoft.MSE.Tools.ModelViewer.Controller.MainController.LoadCacheAsyncStart(MSEUserRole oldRole, MSEUserRole newRole, Boolean firstLoad, AsyncOperation asyncInfo)</EventException> </LogEvent>.

Any help would be appreciated.

The errors you have included in the message would appear when the ModelViewer can't connect to the Catalog service.  There should be a number of these NullReference Exceptions, but preceeding them should be some indication as to what happened when the ModelViewer tried to connect to the catalog service... the simplest cause being that the catalog service isn't running which would trigger an EndpointNotFound Exception just before the NullReference exceptions you see.
