Activity Monitor

How do we do activity monitoring. Does this track caller of a service with the data associated to that call and also the return value from the service call ?

I dont see anything related to that area in the technical documentation.

We tackle this with custom policies attached to whatever it is you want to monitor (endpoints, resources, etc.)  One example is to add via policy a WCF MessageInspector that tracks round trip of an operation invocation.  This information can be stored in a database for analysis and reporting.  We have also worked with using BizTalk's Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) to record this information, though this does require a bit more setup.  We don't have specific guidance at this point on how to setup a BAM based solution, however there are several posts that do provide information on how to configure it.  We do plan on publishing more information about our BAM approach since there has been quite a bit of interest.
