Hosting WCF Services

Hello,

is it possible to host a WCF service within the MSE (ideally by "registering" an assembly containing the service) or do I have to deploy the service separately (self hosted, Windows service or IIS etc.)
Sorry for the simple question but I could not find this in the documentation.

Thanks.

The MSE does not act as a host for your service implementations.  It is a host only for the virtual endpoints you define with the management tool.  That being said, in service enablement scenarios the WCF Channel you'd create to connect to whatever the backend logic is means you don't need to actually have a "web service" hosted somewhere outside the MSE.  Service enabling a queue, database, mainframe, etc. can all be handled with a custom WCF channel that will be used by the MSE when an operation is invoked on one of its virtual endpoints.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that clears it up for me.
